Vault Raiders DoubleMax is a 5 x 3 Video Slot with up to 243 ways to win. It features Cascading Reels and a Free Spins feature.
Cascade+ is the name of the mechanics used in both the main game and Free Spins section of Vault Raiders DoubleMax used to deliver Free Spins from a trail.
The trail position is reset at the start of every new game.
Vault Raiders DoubleMax uses the ‘DoubleMax’ mechanic. Each winning cascade increases a multiplier by x2, progressing as x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, x128, x256, x512, x1024, x2048. The multiplier resets to x1 at the end of the game cycle. The DoubleMax multiplier is also active during the Free Spins feature and does not reset until the end, allowing for truly big wins.
The ‘DoubleMax’ multiplier is also applied to the winnings won from any safe symbols that land in view.
Safe symbols are single scatter symbols that can land anywhere in view during both the base game and the Free Spins bonus feature.
Any Safe symbol that lands in view will open to reveal a cash prize.
This cash prize is then multiplied by the current DoubleMaxâ„¢ multiplier value and is awarded to the player.
It is possible for more than one Safe symbol to land in view in a single spin.
The cash prizes are multiples of the player’s base stake.
The available prizes are: X2, X5, X10, X20, X50, X100
Each Safe symbol is only awarded once per spin, on the cascade in which it lands.
The Free Spins trail shows where the player needs to reach to be awarded Free Spins. Each time a pop occurs, the Free Spins trail will increase by one position. The current step on the Free Spins trail is represented by the highest lit position.
Once no more pops occur, if the current trail step has lit a position with an icon on top of it, the player is awarded the Free Spins feature.
The icons seen on the trail represent the bank and the 4 specialists, where each specialist has a different skillset. Upon reaching a position with a specialist, this specialist is added to the Vault Raid crew, bringing their skills into the Free Spins feature and more chances for bigger wins.
If only a Safe symbol lands in the window without any symbol wins this will not increase the trail position. Only symbol wins increase the trail position.
Finishing on the Bank trail position starts Free Spins with 8 spins and no crew members to help open the vaults in the Vault Raid Mini Feature.
Free Spins are played at the bet of the triggering spin.
The number of Free Spins awarded will be 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16 depending on the current trail position.
The Free Spins feature is set inside the bank and the player is awarded a minimum of 8 Free Spins and any specialists that have joined the crew on entry (depending on the trail position).
Free Spins use the same Cascade+ mechanics as the base game to award wins and move along the Free Spins trail to increase the player’s current remaining number of Free Spins. The available retrigger amounts are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.
The Free Spins trail is reset at the end of every free spin.
The feature includes the DoubleMaxâ„¢ mechanics. The initial value of the DoubleMaxâ„¢ multiplier is X1 and it does not reset during the feature allowing for big wins.
Vault Raid symbols are single scatter symbols that can only land on reel 5 in the Free Spins bonus.
During Free Spins, if a Vault Raid symbol lands in view on reel 5, the Vault Raid mini feature is awarded and the player has the chance to crack the code and be awarded a large Vault prize.
Upon landing, the player will be taken to the keypad entry screen, where they can attempt to open the Vault by guessing the correct entry code.
The player has 3 attempts to crack the code. If the player runs out of attempts before unlocking the Vault, then they can continue where they left off with another 3 attempts, if another mini feature is triggered during the same Free Spins feature. If the player entered the Free Spins feature with Nate Cypher in their team (trail position 7 or further), then the number of attempts is 4, instead of 3.
These are the three types of Vaults to open, from lowest to highest value:
All entry codes consist of unique numbers. The player is prompted to select different numbers on the keypad to try and crack the code to open the vault. Any correct number inputted by the player will be shown as yellow on the display and any incorrect numbers shown as red. Any number selected by the player is then removed from the keypad, so no duplicate numbers can be inputted.
If the player guesses all numbers of the code correctly, they are awarded the Vault’s prize and then are returned to the Free Spins feature. If the player triggers the mini feature again, the opened Vault is removed and replaced by a new and upgraded Vault to open. If the opened Vault was Gold, then another Gold Vault will be presented to the player.
The prizes inside the vault are multipliers of the player’s base stake.
The Bronze vault has the following prize multipliers available: X20, X25, X30, X40, X50, X75, X100
The Silver vault has the following prize multipliers available: X125, X150, X175, X200, X250, X300, X500
The Gold vault has the following prize multipliers available: X600, X700, X800, X1000, X1250, X1500, X2000
The Vault prizes are not multiplied by the ‘DoubleMax’ multiplier.
Each crew member that was activated by landing on their trail position in the base game gets added to the Free Spins feature.
Their purpose is to use their special skills to help opening the vaults in the Vault Raid Mini Feature.
These skills are activated automatically upon entry to the triggered Free Spins feature.
The first character, Rex Havok, activated on trail position 6 or further: Can ‘nudge’ in extra ‘Vault Raid’ symbols that land above the fifth reel giving the player more attempts to open the Vault. This can activate several times throughout the duration of the triggered Free Spins feature.
The second character, Nate Cypher, activated on trail position 7 or further: Awards an extra digit pick on the keypad during the Vault Raid mini feature. This stays active throughout the duration of the triggered Free Spins feature.
The third character, Sienna Steel, activated on trail position 8 or further: Reveals one of the code digits to the player during the Vault Raid mini feature. Every Vault will have one revealed digit throughout the duration of the triggered Free Spins feature.
The fourth character, Jake Knight, activated on trail position 9: Upon entry to the feature, opens the Bronze Vault and awards its prize. The first Vault available during the feature will be the Silver one. This activates once at the start of the triggered Free Spins feature.
All activated skills are deactivated at the end of the triggered Free Spins feature.
